Step 1: Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C. Prepare a baking tray by greasing with shortening or butter and sprinkling the pan with flour.

Step 2: In a large bowl, cream butter, vanilla extract, and sugar until light and fluffy. Then add the flour and mix well. 

Step 3: Beat the eggs lightly (you want them to be very light) and fold them into the mixture with a spatula or fork.

Step 6: Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool down completely. Once cooled down, transfer the cake to a cutting board and remove the parchment paper.
